Autronic Plastics

Central Islip Manufacturer Saves 20 Percent on Energy Costs

ReCharge NY Success Story
Long Island-based Autronic Plastics is a leading custom injection molding company serving a wide range of industries: medical and dental, automotive, life safety, lighting, aerospace, military, defense, and consumer products. As a manufacturer, energy costs are a significant factor in Autronic's profitability. As management looked to build a new headquarters and primary factory, they contacted the ReCharge NY program. An allocation of 436 kilowatts of low-cost NYPA electricity, along with the company's ties to the region and its employees, led to Autronic's decision to build its new facility in Central Islip. The 100,000 sq. foot facility  is optimized for injection molding, tool making, product assembly, and design engineering. Autronic has also been contributing to energy innovation in NY: With seed funding in grants from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, Autronics engineers have been developing cutting-edge energy efficient LED lighting technology for use on subway platforms, subway tunnel maintenance, and lighting for construction sites.

“The new facility in Central Islip is equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and equipment which will enable long-term economic success. Our decision to stay on Long Island was greatly influenced by incentives such as ReCharge NY.”
