Overview

The Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”), N.Y. Public Officers Law Article 6, grants members of the public access to the records of government in accordance with its provisions. The New York Power Authority (“NYPA”) is subject to FOIL.  For more information about FOIL and the Personal Privacy Protection Law (N.Y. Request Records

FOIL requests for records maintained by NYPA must be submitted in writing to the Records Access Officer.  Please be as specific as possible in describing the records you seek.  Requests can be mailed, faxed, emailed or submitted online by using the link below.

Right to Appeal

Pursuant to Public Officer Law § 89(4), if you believe any portion of your FOIL request has been improperly denied, you may appeal the decision within 30 days in writing to the FOIL Appeals Officer.
