#TDIH (1968), NYPA applied to the Federal Power Commission (now @FERC) for a license to build a pumped storage hydroelectric project in Schoharie County, about 40 miles southwest of Albany. The Blenheim-Gilboa Hydroelectric Power Station would begin commercial operation in 1973.
