WHITE PLAINS—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) trustees today approved a $364,000 contract to Bernier, Carr & Associates, of Watertown, to provide architectural, engineering and design services for new facilities for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation at Robert Moses State Park in Massena.

The new facilities will replace temporary buildings for the Park Police as well as for administration and maintenance.

The original Park buildings, along with the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, were destroyed by an accidental fire in 2010. NYPA has been working with state agencies and local stakeholders to rebuild the facilities, which fall under the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Recreation Plan for NYPA’s St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project in Massena.

The design will be coordinated with plans for the new nature center, which is currently under construction.
