New York Power Authority to Host “Touch-a-Truck" Event and Safety Fair at the

Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center on August 22

  

NORTH BLENHEIM, N.Y.—The New York Power Authority (NYPA)’s Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center will hold its annual “Touch-a-Truck" event and safety fair at Mine Kill State Parkon Saturday, August 22, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

 

Dozens of vehicles from NYPA, the Department of Transportation and other local organizations will be on display during the event.

  

Family-friendly activitiesand on-site exhibitors will teach guests about the displayed vehicles and offer insight into the best safety practices for everyday tasks.The event will include craft activities, an entertainmenttent and games.

 

Touch-a-Truck events are a popular staple of annual programming at NYPA Visitors Centers statewide. The annual activity allows people of all ages to learn about community and workplace safety by interacting firsthand with heavy equipment used by transportation and utility crews, law enforcement, public officials and other first responders.
