New York Power Authority and Town of Niagara to Host Tree Planting Event
in Support of Environmental Justice
The New York Power Authority (NYPA), in collaboration with the Town of Niagara and its Environmental Justice Community Voices Collaborative (EJCVC), will host a community tree planting event on Tuesday, November 4. The event, taking place at 2590 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, will feature the planting of 15 native trees, including five bare root sugar maples, five bare root Allegheny serviceberries, and two bare root white oaks. Local volunteers will join forces with a professional landscaping vendor to bring this community greening effort to life.
This initiative supports NYPA’s ongoing commitment to biodiversity, community engagement, and environmental stewardship of the area. NYPA volunteers will join the effort alongside the Town of Niagara reinforcing the Authority’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable practices.
WHAT: NYPA and the Town of Niagara will plant 15 trees with local volunteers as part of an Environmental Justice community initiative.
WHEN: 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Rain date Wednesday Nov. 5 same time.
WHERE: 2590 Military Road, Niagara Falls, N.Y., 14304. Planting will take place on the greenway strip adjacent to the parking lot on Packard Road. Please park in Extra Space Storage parking lot.
