Power Authority Awarded as Top Workplace Among New York’s Public, Private, and Nonprofit Employers
WHITE PLAINS—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has been named by City and State as a Top Place to Work in New York in 2025. City & State’s Top Places to Work in NY 2025 is a first-of-its-kind recognition program celebrating the organizations that set the standard for workplace excellence across New York.
City and State’s Top Places to Work in NY 2025 list features 51 of the best places to work in the world of New York politics and policy, including governmental, nonprofit and for-profit entities. The list highlights organizations that excel in company culture, employee satisfaction, innovation, and growth opportunities.
The Power Authority received recognition for its outstanding Leadership, Employees, and Employee Benefits.
“I take great pride in working alongside talented and passionate individuals, and ensuring our culture is one where employees can thrive, grow and make significant contributions to our mission,” said NYPA Senior Vice President of Human Resources Karina Saslow. “NYPA remains dedicated to cultivating an environment where our employees feel a sense of belonging and have the tools they need to succeed.”
The workplaces were selected from a large pool of nominations and recommendations and were assessed for merit and relevance. City and State also took into account anonymous employee reviews and other publicly available information. The finalists then shared basic details – including three areas where they excel – to be featured.
The Power Authority employs more than 2,500 people in New York State and operates major hydropower projects in Western and Northern New York as well as one-third of the state’s power transmission system.
NYPA’s workforce includes individuals with a diverse range of skills, including electricians, mechanics, security professionals, engineers, project managers, environmental scientists, data analysts, cloud engineers, financial analysts, energy traders, and many others.
