St. Lawrence River Research and Educational Fund Seeking Proposals
Proposals Due By Dec. 31
MASSENA, N.Y.—The St. Lawrence River Research and Educational Fund (SLRREF) is now accepting applications for the 2025 funding cycle.
The SLRREF provides financial support for environmental research education projects relating to the ecology of the St. Lawrence River watershed in the immediate vicinity of the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project in Massena.
To be eligible for funding, a project must pertain to waters and immediately adjoining terrestrial features of the main stem of the St. Lawrence River or portions of St. Lawrence River tributaries that are within the St. Lawrence Valley.
Projects eligible for funding should focus on the stretch of river between the City of Ogdensburg, New York, and Summerstown, Ontario, although relevant areas upstream and downstream of this stretch—including international water—may be included for consideration.
The fund was established by the New York Power Authority during the relicensing of its St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project in 2003 with support of more than $1 million.
Proposals must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Proposals should be sent to SLRREF Board Chair Jill Winters at jill.winters@nypa.gov.
