News Advisory and Photo Opportunity:  Advanced Clean Energy Fuel Cell Dedicated at SUNY ESF Campus

February 17, 2006

New York Power Authority and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority representatives will join with Cornelius B. Murphy, Jr., President of the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:30 in the Bray Hall Rotunda for a dedication ceremony for the college’s new 250 kilowatt molten carbonate  fuel cell.

This is the first molten carbonate fuel cell slated for operation in New York State.  Once operational the fuel cell will provide clean energy to the campus. SUNY ESF will use the residual heat for domestic hot water, space heating and cooling.   NYPA and NYSERDA are the major funding partners for this new clean energy technology.
