FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEWISTON—New York Power Authority officials, preparing to continue a $13 million refurbishment of the concrete face of the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant, have announced a new traffic pattern on the Robert Moses Parkway during the repair work.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 16, southbound Parkway traffic will be diverted to the westernmost lane of the northbound Parkway segment. The diversion will occur north of the Moses Power Plant in the Village of Lewiston near the Center Street entrance/exit ramps. The new traffic pattern will be clearly marked.

Work on the power plant will occur through October this year and from April through October in 2006. The Parkway diversion will be in effect during the time the work is being performed.

The work will entail repair and, in some cases replacement, of the concrete facing of the power plant. Support vehicles for the work will be located in the southbound Parkway lane closest to the work area. The hiking trail that currently occupies that lane will be shifted eastward into what has been the southbound automobile lane.
