NYPA Announces Fall Schedule of Free Family Fun at Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center

NORTH BLENHEIM - The New York Power Authority announced today a schedule of free family fun at its Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center set for October and November. The season kicks off with a full weekend of spooky fun October 18, 19 and 20, and continues in November with a Sunday movie series. See schedule below for details:



Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Haunted Village, Hayrides and Halloween- themed tour of Lansing Manor.


Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Children’s Costume Parade with prizes; Haunted Village (from noon – 4 p.m.); Kids’ Craft Activities, Hayrides, Pumpkin Patch and Food Trucks.


Sunday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Psychic and Tarot Card Readings.  (For entertainment only. Must be over 18.)


Sunday, Nov. 3 & 11, at 2 p.m
BBC’s Planet Earth II in 4K Ultra HD on the big screen

Sunday, Nov. 17 & 24, at 2 p.m.
BBC’s Blue Planet II - The acclaimed documentary on marine life and the challenges facing our oceans.


For a triple play, round out your visit with a tour of the Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center and Historic Lansing Manor and/or take advantage of the outdoor recreation surrounding the visitors center complex, including hiking trails, boating and fishing.


The Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center is housed in a restored 19th-century dairy barn and features a wide range of interactive exhibits on such subjects as Basics of Electricity, Uses of Electricity and operation of the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project.  The Blenheim-Gilboa Visitor Center is open daily, year round, for guided tours from 10 a.m.- 5.p.m.


Lansing Manor is filled with authentic furnishings and priceless antiques from the first half of the 19th century.  The Manor is a classic example of Federal period architecture and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  Operated by NYPA, the Manor is marking its 42nd season as an admission-free museum. Lansing Manor is open daily from May through October for guided tours from 10 a.m.- 5.p.m. The Manor is closed Tuesdays.


The complex is located at 1378 State Route 30 in North Blenheim, 17 miles south of Middleburgh and five miles north of Grand Gorge, about one hour from Albany.
