Buffalo and Erie Greenway Standing Committee to Meet February 28 for Presentations of Submitted Project Applications

BUFFALO—The next meeting of the Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee will be at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, 726 Exchange Street, Suite 525, Buffalo, NY 14210. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting agenda includes presentations by applicants who are seeking Greenway project funding in the current round of requests. Awards will be announced at the next meeting, Friday, March 23.

The committee receives funds from the New York Power Authority (NYPA) as part of the settlement agreement related to the 50-year federal license for the Niagara Power Project in 2007. During the term of the license, the Buffalo and Erie County Standing Committee receives $2 million a year. The Committee is composed of one representative from Erie County, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and NYPA.
