Microgrid: Empire State Plaza
OGS and NYPA Partner on Empire State Plaza Combined Heat and Power Microgrid Project
A prime example of the Governor’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) plan to build a cleaner, more resilient and affordable energy system throughout New York State, this co-generation and microgrid project is expected to save the Plaza $3 million in annual energy costs. Operation of the new energy efficient plant is expected to remove more than 25,600 tons of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere each year – the equivalent of taking more than 5,000 cars off the road.
More information about this project will be made available on this webpage. Download the request for proposals (RFP) associated with this project. Contact us at PlazaMicrogridInfo@nypa.gov with any questions.
