NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

POWER AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK

 

The Power Authority of the State of New York (Authority) will hold a public hearing in the Common Council Chamber, City Hall, 233 East Washington Street, Syracuse, New York, on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. on extensions of contracts from July 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009 for sale to National Grid (formerly Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation), New York State Electric & Gas Corporation and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (collectively, the Utilities) of a total of 455 MW of firm and 360 MW of firm peaking hydropower currently being sold to the Utilities for the benefit of domestic and rural consumers.  Such contract extensions would be terminable by the Authority on 30 days’ prior written notice.

 

Copies of the proposed agreements may be inspected at the Authority’s office at the address below, or online at the Authority’s website, www.nypa.gov

 

Those wishing to make an oral statement at the hearing are asked to provide to the Authority, in writing, in advance of the hearing, their name(s), the name of the organization or group they represent and the estimated length of their statement, which should not exceed five minutes.

 

Six copies of any written statements or memoranda must be provided to the Authority prior to the hearing.  For further information, including the address of other Authority offices at which copies of the proposed agreements may be inspected, contact:
