NYPA Offers Free Family Movies on MLK Day, January 20

Visitors Also Invited to Donate Canned Goods for Neighborhood Soup Kitchen to Honor Dr. King's Legacy

MASSENA - The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will sponsor a day of free family-friendly movies at the admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center on Mon., January 20, the holiday honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

During the day, NYPA will show a selection of back-to-back movies beginning at 10 a.m. in the visitors center theater, and will also be collecting canned goods for the Massena Neighborhood Center to honor the civil right leader’s legacy of community service.

Monday's movie schedule is as follows:
10 a.m. - "Planes”
1 p.m. - “Epic”
3 p.m. - “The Smurfs 2”

Besides enjoying the movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such subjects as water power and the St. Lawrence-FDR project.
