As part of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) wetland restoration at Little Beaver Island, stakes, netting and fencing are installed, in a Niagara River channel adjacent to Little Beaver Island, to delineate areas of new wetland plantings and to protect them from wildlife until they are established. The new osprey nesting platform, also part of NYPA's wetland restoration project, is visible at the center of the photo.

The New York Power Authority constructed a wildlife observation trail along the boundary of the wetland at Little Beaver Island to replace an earlier trail. The trail now leads to a raised observation berm overlooking the wetland to provide park visitors with a panoramic view of the restored wetland. As part of the trail and overlook, an interpretive sign program was developed. All work was completed as part of NYPA's wetland restoration project for Little Beaver Island.
