Buffalo And Erie County Greenway Standing Committee Meeting On July 27

LEWISTON—The Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 27, at 4 p.m. at the Erie County Rath Building in Buffalo. The meeting is open to the public and the agenda will include additional funding considerations for the projects that have already been submitted for funding.
The committee has approved 18 projects to date, committing more than $7.9 million to the establishment of the Niagara River Greenway in Erie County. The complete list can be found on the NYPA web site at:
The committee is composed of one representative from Erie County, City of Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the New York Power Authority (NYPA).The Buffalo and Erie County Standing Committee receives funds from NYPA, as part of a settlement agreement related to the 50-year license received by NYPA for the Niagara Power Project in 2007. During the term of the license, the Buffalo and Erie County Standing Committee will receive $2 million a year.
