The five-door hatchback was one of several plug-in vehicles showcased on Nov. 30 outside the New York Power Authority’s White Plains Office as part of an EV workshop and “ride-and-drive” event for NYPA’s Westchester and New York City government customers and other interested parties. The clean communities organization and NYPA are dedicated to accelerating the introduction of plug-in vehicles for reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy security. NYPA has helped put on the road more than 1,200 electric-drive vehicles for its own vehicle fleet and those of its customers.
An all-electric zero emission commercial truck—the Newton—manufactured by Smith Electric Vehicles was among the plug-in vehicles showcased on Nov. 30 outside the New York Power Authority’s White Plains office building as part of an EV workshop and “ride-and-drive” event. NYPA’s government customers in Westchester and New York City and other interested parties were provided with information on the new generation of plug-in vehicles and measures for establishing the necessary electric-charging stations. NYPA has helped put more than 1,200 electric-drive vehicles on New York State roads.
