Above right, New York Power Authority (NYPA) ) President and Chief Executive Officer Richard M. Kessel (far right) and Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) Chairman Henry M. Sloma (speaking) are joined by Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte and Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster at a celebration October 12 of a solar project that will provide clean, renewable energy for the operations at a NFTA bus garage on Military Road.

Below right, Kessel and NYPA trustee Patrick Curely examine the 250-kilowatt (kw) roof-mounted photovoltaic system which will provide approximately 16 percent of the electricity required by the Frontier Garage—one of three bus garages that the NFTA operates in Buffalo.

In addition to the elected officials mentioned above, Kessel and Sloma were joined by various civic and environmental leaders in making the announcement at the garage.
