New York Power Authority (NYPA) President Richard Kessel helped SKF Aeroengine North America inaugurate a new chapter in its Chautauqua County operations at an Aug. 17 event to mark the company’s plans to invest nearly $18 million in a new heat-treatment facility in Falconer.  NYPA will provide additional low-cost hydropower to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities in support of SKF’s increased electricity use. Other state incentives for the expansion include funding through Empire State Development, the state’s primary economic development agency.  Looking on as Kessel spoke was Tom Johnstone, president and CEO of parent company AB SKF.   The company, which produces roller bearing products for aeroengine and other applications, will retain nearly 700 high-paying jobs in Chautauqua County.  (See related press release)
