President and NFTA Chairman to Highlight Plans for Solar
Installation at Transit Agency's Bus Garage in Buffalo

New York Power Authority (NYPA) President and Chief Executive
Officer Richard M. Kessel and Niagara Frontier Transportation
Authority (NFTA) Chairman Henry M. Sloma will be joined Wednesday
afternoon by Western New York elected officials and business and
environmental leaders in announcing plans for a solar photovoltaic
(PV) installation at the transit agency’s bus maintenance garage on
Military Road in Buffalo.
The state-of-the-art solar power project will
provide approximately 10 percent of the Frontier Garage’s
electricity, reducing fossil-fuel combustion and greenhouse gas
emissions. A Western New York firm will be responsible for the
installation of the PV equipment, with the project helping to
support clean energy jobs.
