FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LEWISTON—The lower level parking area for the fishing pier at the
base of the New York Power Authority’s Robert Moses Niagara Power
Plant will be closed to all vehicles on Monday, August 10.
Workers will be putting the finishing touches on an
expansion project that has added spaces for 10 more cars at the
lower level parking area. Previously, the site only had room for
four vehicles with handicapped-access permits.
Anglers will still be able to access the popular
fishing pier, which will remain open on Monday while the expansion
project is completed, from NYPA’s upper level parking lot.
The fishing pier parking lot expansion is one of a
series of recreational improvements NYPA has agreed to make as part
of the relicensing of its Niagara Power Project. Work to expand
parking and improve access to fishing spots at Lewiston Reservoir
and near NYPA’s water intakes along the Upper Niagara River is being
done this summer as well.
