New York State Safe Boating Course Scheduled for
NYPA Visitors Center July 11

NORTH BLENHEIM—A New York State
Safe Boating Certification course will be held Sat., July 11, from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Blenheim-Gilboa
Pumped Storage Power Project visitors center.
Dennis Downs, a certified
instructor with the Northeastern New York Safety & Health Council,
Inc., will conduct the free eight-hour course.
To receive the Safe Boating
Certificate, participants must complete the classroom session and
pass the final exam with a grade of 75 percent or more, and must be
at least 18 years old. New York State charges a $10 administrative
fee to obtain the certificate.
Coffee and tea will be served, but
those attending should bring lunch. Please contact Steve Ramsey,
community relations manager at NYPA’s Blenheim-Gilboa facility, at
800-724-0309, before July 4, to reserve your place.
The
admission-free visitors center, open seven days a week from 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m., is located 17 miles south of Middleburgh at 1378 State
Route 30, North Blenheim, NY 12131.
