Power Authority To Host Antique

MASSENA―The New York Power Authority will play host
to an antique truck show on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the St.
Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project’s admission-free Frank
S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch.
The trucks will be on display from noon to 4 p.m., with ample
parking available for visitors.
Truck owners will be on hand to answer questions
and provide information about their vehicles. The first 50 trucks at
the event will receive dashboard plaques.
The visitors center, featuring a wide range of
interactive exhibits on subjects such as water power and the St.
Lawrence-FDR project, basics of electricity and uses of electricity,
will be open on Sunday as usual from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will
also be able to enjoy the panoramic view of the power dam from
Hawkins Point.
DIRECTIONS: From Massena: Take State Route 37 east
to Route 131 (across from St. Lawrence Centre Mall), turn left and
proceed through the Eisenhower Lock tunnel. Then take the second
right onto Robinson Bay Road and continue for two miles. Turn left
onto Hawkins Point Road and follow the entrance road to the visitors
center.
