Two Niagara Wheatfield High School graduates, Mia McKie and Wayland Wilson, are this year’s winners of the Niagara Power Project Relicensing Scholarships, designated for members of the Tuscarora Nation under a 50-year annual commitment by the New York Power Authority. Horace Horton, NYPA regional manager for Western New York, presented the scholarship certificates earlier this month at the project’s visitors center. McKie will be attending the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University and Wilson will be a student at Niagara County Community College.
