NYPA to Hold Public Hearing on

WHITE PLAINS—The New York Power Authority (NYPA)
will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m.,
commencing consideration of standards for Fuel Sources, Fossil Fuel
Generation Efficiency and Net Metering, as required by the federal
Energy Policy Act (EPACT) of 2005.
The Power Authority must complete consideration of
the new standards for those categories and determine whether to
adopt them by Aug. 8.
EPACT, which modified the Public Utility Regulatory
Policies Act of 1978, provided for public comment as part of the
consideration process of the new standards for determining whether
utilities are in compliance with them.
The May 8 hearing will be held in the Jaguar Room
of NYPA’s administrative office building at 123 Main Street, White
Plains, N.Y.
