FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NORTH BLENHEIM—A display of quilts dating back to the 18th century will highlight the admission-free Mother’s Day celebration on May 10 and 11 at the historic Lansing Manor House. The manor is on the grounds of the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project. This year marks the manor’s 31st year as a museum.

Quilting groups and independent quilters from Schoharie, Greene and Delaware counties will participate in the show. The weekend program will also include a raffle for a basket of quilter’s supplies, guided tours of Lansing Manor and refreshments, all free of charge.

The Lansing Manor House is filled with authentic furnishings from the first half of the 19th century. The house, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is operated by NYPA in cooperation with the Schoharie County Historical Society.

The museum is open daily, except Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., until October 31. For further information, call 1-800-724-0309 or visit NYPA on the Web at www.nypa.gov.

Lansing Manor is located 17 miles south of Middleburgh and 5 miles north of Grand Gorge. It is almost 50 miles southwest of Albany, about an hour’s drive.
