FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LEWISTON—The Greenway Ecological Fund Standing
Committee will hold its first meeting on Friday Feb. 15, from 1 to 3
pm, at the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Power Vista located at
the Niagara Power Project at 5777 Lewiston Rd. in Lewiston.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will
include discussions of committee organization and acceptance of the
general protocols for Niagara River Greenway project proposals. The
committee may also consider if additional language is needed
specific to the Greenway Ecological Fund.
The general protocols are based on settlement
agreements previously reached with several key stakeholders in the
relicensing of the Niagara project. The protocols detail such
topics as committee membership, meeting requirements, and committee
authority and obligation, and fund disbursements.
The Greenway Ecological Standing Committee is one
of four standing committees that will distribute funding from NYPA
for projects consistent with the Niagara River Greenway Plan.
