Blood Drive and Raffle to be Held at NYPA Visitors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORTH BLENHEIM—The American Red Cross will conduct
a blood drive at the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Blenheim-Gilboa
Pumped Storage Power Project visitors center from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10.
In celebration of National Volunteer Blood Donor
Month, all January donors will be eligible to enter an American Red
Cross-sponsored drawing. The two winners will be reimbursed for one
month’s gas and electric bills.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling
1-800-724-0309.
Qualified blood donors must be healthy, weigh at
least 110 pounds and have refrained from donating blood in the last
eight weeks (56 days). Donors must also display identification
proving they are at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a
signed parental permission form (the forms are available on the Web
at
www.donatebloodnow.org). People with chronic conditions such as
diabetes or high blood pressure must demonstrate that the condition
is under control.
The NYPA visitors center is located on State Route
30, 17 miles south of Middleburgh and five miles north of Grand
Gorge.
