Authority Visitors Center Will Play Host to Holiday Movies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MASSENA—The New York
Power Authority (NYPA) will mark the Christmas break with a series
of movies on Thursday, Dec. 27 and Friday, Dec. 28 at the St.
Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project’s admission-free
Hawkins Point visitors center.
On Thursday, “Shrek the
Third” will be shown at 10 a.m., followed by “Underdog” at noon. On
Friday, “Meet the Robinsons” will be shown at 10 a.m. and Disney’s
“Ratatouille” will be featured at noon. All movies were released
this year.
Along with enjoying the
movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the $5
million Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such
themes as water power and the St. Lawrence-FDR project, basics of
electricity and uses of electricity. Another highlight is the
panoramic view of the project’s power dam from Hawkins Point.
The visitors center
will be closed from Dec. 24 to 26 and on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Normal
daily operation, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume on Jan 2.
