December 14, 2007

NORTH BLENHEIM—The New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) admission-free visitors center at the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project will be open daily throughout the holiday season from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1.

The center, housed in a refurbished 19th-century dairy barn, features interactive exhibits on such subjects as electricity production, operation of the Blenheim-Gilboa project and energy efficiency. Visitors can also enjoy the more than 15 evergreens decorated in a variety of holiday themes at the fifth annual Festival of Trees, which continues at the visitors center through Jan. 2 of next year.

After the holidays, the center will resume its normal seven-day-a-week operation.

The visitors center is located on Route 30, 17 miles south of Middleburgh and five miles north of Grand Gorge. For more information, call 1-800-724-0309 or visit NYPA on the Web at
