NORTH BLENHEIM—The New York Power Authority’s (NYPA)
Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project visitors center will be
closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23.
The admission-free visitors center will reopen for normal hours, 10
a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 24.
On Sunday, Nov. 25, the center will play host to a
matinee in its theater. A showing of the movie, “The Long, Long
Trailer” (1954), starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, will begin at
2 p.m., with popcorn available.
The NYPA visitors center is housed in a refurbished
19th-century dairy barn and features displays and interactive
exhibits for children and adults on such subjects as electricity
production, operation of the Blenheim-Gilboa project and energy
efficiency. The visitors center is located on Route 30, 17 miles
south of Middleburgh and five miles north of Grand Gorge.
