Expanded Summer Hours to Begin At

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MASSENA—Expanded summer hours will begin Saturday
(May 26) at the admission-free Hawkins Point Visitors Center at the
New York Power Authority’s St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power
Project. The center will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7
p.m. until Columbus Day, Oct. 8.
The center offers a fun-filled day with its many
hands-on exhibits on energy, electricity, the environment and the
area’s history. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the
project’s power dam from Hawkins Point.
Directions to the visitors center: From Massena:
take State Route 37 east to Route 131 (across from St. Lawrence
Centre Mall), turn left and proceed through the Eisenhower Lock
tunnel. Then take the second right onto Robinson Bay Road and
continue for two miles. Turn left onto Hawkins Point Road and follow
the entrance road to the visitors center.
