News Advisory and Calendar Listing: NYPA to Hold Hearing on Tri-Lakes Reliability Project

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will hold a State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Tri-Lakes Reliability Project on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from 2-5pm and 6-9pm. A snow date, if needed due to inclement weather, is scheduled for Thursday, January 12, at the same times.
The SEQRA hearing is open to the general public. It will be held at the Ivy Terrace Room, 38 Boyer Ave, Tupper Lake NY 12986. This location is handicapped-accessible. The format for the hearing will be announced at the start of the hearing so as to accommodate the number of participants who wish to comment.
Copies of the DEIS are available for public view at Town and Village municipal offices in the Tri-Lakes Region and also at libraries in the Region. A copy of the exact locations follows this News Advisory. Also on view is a copy of the Adirondack Park Agency Application for a permit for the Tri-Lakes Reliability Project which is a new power line needed to improve the reliability of electric service in the Tri-Lakes Region. Comments will be accepted until January 31, 2006. Comments received at the SEQRA hearing, or by mail or email by January 31, 2006, are all considered equal in the process.
