News Advisory and Photo Opportunity: Public Invited to a Classic Car "Cruise-In"

The public is cordially invited to a classic car "Cruise-In" to enjoy some summer fun. The Massena Olde Car Club will be showcasing some of its members’ cars at the New York Power Authority’s Hawkins Point Visitors Center at the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project on Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plenty of parking will be available for visitors, who will have an opportunity to vote for the Spectators Choice Award, by selecting their favorite vintage car.

Before, after or while at the “Cruise-In,” the public is also invited to see the wide array of interactive energy exhibits at NYPA’s newly constructed $5 million visitors center, and enjoy the panoramic views of the power dam from Hawkins Point.

DATE: Saturday, August 13

TIME: 10:00 a.m. (Visitors Center open normal business hrs. 9 a.m. -5 p.m. )

ADMISSION: Free admission to the “Cruise-In.” Admission is always free to the Hawkins Point Visitors Center

DIRECTIONS: From Massena: Take State Route 37 east to Route 131 (across from St. Lawrence Centre Mall), turn left and proceed through the Eisenhower Lock tunnel. Then take the second right onto Robinson Bay Road and continue for two miles. Turn left onto Hawkins Point Road and follow the entrance road to the visitors center.
