NEWS ADVISORY & PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is planning a
ribbon-cutting ceremony for Tuesday, July 26, for the formal
grand opening of its new Hawkins Point Visitors Center at the St.
Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project. The event will begin at

visitors center at 11:30 a.m.
The $5 million visitors center features an
outstanding view of the giant generating project from across the South
Channel of the St. Lawrence River. It replaces the original visitors
center located in the power dam and closed after 9/11.
The grand opening will feature remarks by NYPA and
area officials, and a picnic.
