Power Vista Renovations to Expand Usefulness of Community Room

LEWISTON—The New York Power Authority has announced plans to renovate the Power Vista community room at the Niagara Power Project.

“By making improvements at the Power Vista, the meeting and dining facility will be available more days during the year and will allow us to make the room available to more groups,” said Eugene W. Zeltmann, president and chief executive officer of the Power Authority.  “The Power Vista has long been the keystone of the Authority’s efforts to promote tourism while at the same time being a good neighbor by hosting many of the area’s schools, civic and business groups for field trips, meetings and social gatherings.  These improvements will enhance those efforts.”

The Power Vista, which opened in 1963, has played host to more than 6 million visitors. In 1998 the Power Vista underwent major renovations to the public exhibit area.  That exhibit area will not be impacted by these renovations and will remain open to the public.

Currently the community room hosts about 30 groups annually, with the new renovations utilization is expected to increase substantially. The renovations are scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
