FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WHITE PLAINS – The New York Power Authority, the
nation’s largest state-owned public utility, has expanded the
availability of its Internet web site to include a significant
portion in the Spanish language.
“As a major provider of electricity and related
services in New York State and especially the metropolitan New York
City area, we feel it is vitally important to make information about
the Power Authority and its activities as widely available as
possible,” said Louis P. Ciminelli, chairman of the Power Authority.
“This expansion of our web site should help us reach that goal.”
The Power Authority’s web site,
www.nypa.gov, provides an array of information about NYPA, its
power projects, the services it provides and contact information. In
addition, news releases and other communications are available on
the site.
The new Spanish information is available by
opening the site and then scrolling down the left side menu to “NYPA
en Español.” Choosing that link will open that portion of the web
site that has been translated from English. It contains mainly
information on Power Authority activities in the Southeastern part
of New York State and news releases and other information of
particular interest to New York City residents.
