WHITE PLAINS—Ed Hubert of Massena has been appointed to the new position of general manager of transmission maintenance, responsible for all of the New York Power Authority’s transmission lines, transmission right-of-way and for the operations and maintenance organization at the Clark Energy Center in Marcy.
The appointment was announced by Eugene W. Zeltmann, the Power Authority’s president and chief operating officer, who said, “Ed will provide the necessary leadership, direction and vision to position the Power Authority for success in the future as the restructuring of the electricity industry continues to evolve.”
Hubert joined the Power Authority staff at the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project part time in 1969 while a student at the University of Buffalo. Upon graduation in 1973, he became a full-time staff member.
A native of Massena and a life-long resident, Hubert said he intends to maintain his home there where he resides with his wife, Nancy, and two college-age sons, Scott, a senior at Brockport State, and Matthew, a sophomore at RPI.
He is a past president of the Massena Country Club, a former Rotarian and has been an active volunteer in many youth and civic organizations.
