NORTH BLENHEIM—In the wake of new security measures at all New York Power Authority facilities, new rules are in effect regarding recreational use of the upper and lower reservoirs at the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project.
From April 1, through Sept. 30 access to the upper reservoir from Kingsley Road will be permitted daily from dawn to dusk for shoreline fishing only. The boat launch is closed and no boating is permitted.
Use of the lower reservoir for shoreline fishing will be permitted at the following times: From April 1 until Memorial Day, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; from Memorial Day until June 20, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; from June 21 until Labor Day, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; from Sept. 3 to Sept. 30, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
No recreational boating is permitted in the lower reservoir. The boat launch at Mine Kill State Park is closed.
