The New York Power Authority has created a fund to support environmental research and environmental education projects relating to the ecology of the St. Lawrence River watershed.

The St. Lawrence River Research and Education Fund (SLRREF) was established as part of the relicensing of NYPA’s St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project, located in Massena, N.Y.

The focus area for SLRREF projects is the vicinity of the St. Lawrence-FDR hydropower project.

Funding decisions will be made annually by a board that includes environmental professionals, state and federal resource scientists, community representatives and the Power Authority.

Applicants must adhere to specific guidelines and include a completed application form with their proposals.
