James Pasquale serves as senior vice president, economic development and energy efficiency for the New York Power Authority (NYPA). Prior to assuming the role of acting senior vice president, MED in July 2009, he served as director of marketing analysis and administration.
In his position, Pasquale is responsible for optimizing economic development opportunities by offering competitively priced power and incentives. He has worked to reform NYPA’s statewide economic development power programs to have a greater impact on job attraction, creation and retention. He is also responsible for NYPA's energy efficiency activities.
Pasquale, who joined the Power Authority in 1986 as a senior accountant in the controllers group, has worked with virtually every area of MED since joining the department in 1995 as manager of municipal regulation.
In 1997, he became manager of business power allocations and compliance, coordinating NYPA’s newly enacted Power for Jobs program. Later, customer billing, and then municipal and cooperative marketing also became his responsibilities, as well as contract administration, and marketing analysis and tariff administration.
Before joining the Power Authority, Pasquale worked five years with the Eisner and Lubin accounting firm in New York. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Pace University.
