The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the nation's largest state public power organization.

What is NYPA’s service territory?

NYPA does not have a geographic service territory as an investor-owned utility does, because it does not provide residential electric service.

Can I get NYPA electricity for my home?

No.  NYPA does not serve residential customers.  It does provide electricity to 51 municipal and cooperative electric systems to sell to their customers.  It also provides electricity to several upstate New York investor-owned utilities, for resale, without markup, to their customers.

Does NYPA regulate New York's investor-owned utilities?

No. The New York State Public Service Commission is responsible for overseeing the state's investor-owned utilities.
