Senior Art Show at NYPA's Niagara Power Vista
LEWISTON — A senior amateur art exhibit is currently on display at the Power Vista, the admission-free visitors center at the New York Power Authority’s Niagara Power Project in Lewiston.
The annual art show, sponsored by the Council for Older Adults in Niagara County, features works of art by 18 area senior artists. The art includes photography, oil, acrylic and Danish needle paintings, which use a variety of long and short stitches to achieve fine, realistic, artistic detail.
While the exhibit is not an art sale, many artists provide contact information should visitors want to purchase art pieces at a later date.
Winning photographs from this year’s amateur photography contest will also be on display along the Power Vista’s glass walkway.
This marks the Older Adults Council’s twentieth annual art exhibit; the past fifteen have been held at the Power Vista.
Visitors are also invited to enjoy a variety of displays and interactive exhibits on electricity, energy efficiency and area history along with spectacular views from an observation deck perched 350 feet above the Niagara River gorge.
The Power Vista is located at 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NY. Admission and parking are always free.
