Veterans Memorial Park got a little brighter this month as the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and the Town of Niagara unveiled 25 new solar-powered LED lights along the park’s roadway. From energy generated during the day by the sun, the new installations add some much needed lighting at night to the previously unlit park. Funding for the lighting was provided by NYPA’s Renewable Energy Plan, established in 2008 to help create a pathway to commercialization of emerging renewable energy technologies.
