New York Power Authority To Sponsor Annual Dam 4-Miler Road Race

MASSENA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will sponsor the annual Dam 4-Miler road race, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at its admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch in Massena.
A $20 registration fee will be used to benefit the American Red Cross Program. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Visitors Center. The first 150 registrants will receive long-sleeved T-shirts. Participants may walk or run the four-mile course. Timed runners will begin at 10 a.m. and walkers at 10:15 a.m.
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, provides relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
After the Dam 4-Miler, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center, which presents information on such subjects as electricity generation and NYPA’s St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project. Visitors are sure to enjoy the panoramic views of the power dam. The visitors center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Columbus Day.
