New York Power Authority Deploys Transmission Linemen in response to hurricane irene:
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) deployed transmission linemen—and trucks and other equipment—to the New York City Metropolitan Area from upstate New York to assist the Long Island Power Authority and other utilities with area power disruptions stemming from Hurricane Irene. Dozens of NYPA engineers, including environmental and safety engineers and construction managers, were also available for assistance.
