NYPA’S “Beat The Heat” Summer Movies Continue In
August

MASSENA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will continue to offer
free family-friendly movies and popcorn every Tuesday this summer
during “Beat the Heat Summer Movie Days” at the admission-free Frank
S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch.
Movies will be shown at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and
5 p.m. in the visitors center auditorium.
The schedule for August is:
Aug. 4: “RV” at 10 a.m., “Mr. Troop Mom” at 1 p.m.,
“Shark Tale” at 3 p.m. and “Pink Panther 2” at 5 p.m.
Aug. 11: “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” at 10 a.m.,
“Race to Witch Mountain” at 1 p.m., “Hoodwinked” at 3 p.m. and
“Princess Protection Program” at 5 p.m.
Aug.18: “Hoot” at 10 a.m., “17 Again” at 1 p.m.,
“The Shaggy Dog” at 3 p.m. and “College Road Trip” at 5 p.m.
Aug.25: “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”
at 10 a.m., “Hannah Montana The Movie” at 1 p.m., “Inkheart” at 3
p.m. and “Shrek” at 5 p.m.
Besides enjoying free movies, visitors can sample
the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which
presents information on such subjects as electricity generation and
NYPA’s St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project. Visitors are sure to enjoy
the panoramic views of the power dam. The visitors center is on its
summer schedule and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
