NYPA to Begin Installation of Docks and Buoys

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MASSENA – The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will
begin the installation of docks and buoys along the St. Lawrence
River in the vicinity of its St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt
Power Project the week of April 20.
Boat docks will be installed at the Frank S.
McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch the
week of April 20. Depending on river conditions, docks will also be
installed at the Massena Intake along with Whittaker Park and Howard
Park in Waddington during the week of April 20.
Once the docks are installed in Massena and
Waddington, NYPA crews will install buoys by the Visitors Center and
South Channel in Massena, and the Old Milk Factory in Waddington.
Installation of the buoys is scheduled to begin the week of April
27.
All the docks and buoys are scheduled to be removed
in October. NYPA will notify the public prior to removal.
