NYPA in Western New York:

  • NYPA's Niagara Power Project, once known as the largest hydropower facility in the Western World, is located 4 1/2 miles downstream from Niagara Falls in the Town of Lewiston in Niagara County. Niagara Falls is a world-renowned address in a lively bi-national region that is home to two million people. For 200 years it has been an important point of commerce between the United States and Canada, offering such beautiful and exciting attractions as the "Seventh Wonder of the World"—Niagara Falls. The region boasts 75 lakes, including the Great Lakes of Erie and Ontario, and has a tremendous variety of sporting and recreational activities that take full advantage of all four seasons. The area is also endowed with a large array of cultural amenities, including world-class theater, music, dance and art museums.

Niagara County has 10 public school systems, vocational and technical training schools, and easy access to more than five public and private colleges and universities, including the State University of New York at Buffalo. The housing market consists of well-planned subdivisions, charming older homes, rolling farms, condominiums and apartment complexes.
